Minister for Veterans’ Affairs (discours disponible à l'adresse suivante : http://minister.dva.gov.au/speeches/2008/apr/080425Villers-BretonneuxDawnService.pdf), de son Excellence Mr David Ritchie - ambassadeur d'Australie en France - du préfet et de nos élus locaux s'est déroulée la Commémoration de l'ANZAC DAY (Australian and New-Zealand Army Corps) au Mémorial de Villers Bretonneux en hommage aux jeunes australiens qui périrent loin de leur patrie pendant la première guerre mondiale.
Plus de 3000 personnes - dont de très nombreux australiens qui avaient fait spécialement le voyage - participèrent à cette commémoration.
